One Year Old Birthday Party
The Splattered Paint team transformed an empty hall to one that is ‘starry’ – for a one year old birthday girl’s party! The theme for this party is “Twinkle Twinkle Glitter Stars”. This is an example of what you can do if you have a low budget…but a very huge place. See the photos for some examples!
Full Moon Party
The Splattered Paint team were honoured to be part of baby Shaun Jesper’s full moon party. Despite the last minute call, we did some decorations for the hall and also entertained the children with some crafts after their meals. They were absolutely delighted! Check out the pictures below.
Face painting at Funzone, Mont Kiara
The Splattered Paint team is buzzing around as Christmas inches around the corner. Last Friday, the 12th we got our paints and pallettes working at a Christmas event in Funzone, Mont Kiara. Children gathered around excited to have an icon on their face. More and more trickled in and before we knew it we were surrounded by 70 over children! All waiting their turn to be painted.
Mont Kiara is highly populated by expats, so we had French, Japanese, German and Korean kids tugging at our sleeves. They speak very little English, so images and clip art helped a lot when choosing their design.
The buzz started from 530pm all the way up till 9pm. Here are some pictures to tell:
School Holidays Are Here!
School holidays are round the corner and the children will be jumping with glee with so much free time at hand. Why not make use of the free time and organize an activity for them? Pick a day or two, give your baby sitter a break, peel them away from the TV and do something fun! Invite their friends over, co-plan this event and if you need help – call the Splattered Paint team. Here are some ideas we have in plan – feel free to tote up them.
Slumber mania

A thematic slumber party complete with fluffy pillows and pajamas. Since it’s not a school night, children can stay up all night playing games, watching a movie or hiding underneath a huge blanket listening to stories.
Treasure hunt

Plan an extensive treasure hunt around your neighborhood field, community center or even in our house. Plant clues on trees, under benches and inside cupboards. Test your children’s IQ and get them to solve silly riddles. Make the treasure worth the while (eg. movie tickets, trip to the zoo, a new game on PS2).
Making of superstars

Sit down and come up with a story plot with the children. They will ace you with their juicy ideas. Get the children to play specific role, gather the costumes and start shooting! Once done, have a movie night to playback the video you have just recorded – everyone will have a ball laughing!
Cook like a chef

Get your children to choose who they would like to invite over for dinner. Send out official invites and plan the menu. Then cook up a storm and decorate the place for the guests.
The Splattered Paint team will be more than happy to organize any one of these activities for you. Get in touch with us today! Contact us.
Great Party Games (Part 2)
You can never have too much games at a party – especially if it’s a children’s party! Trust me, children never get fed up of games, even if it means running around aimlessly for hours! Here are more children’s party games to spice up bash!
Honey I Love You
- Your group should be sitting in a circle again with one person in the middle.
- The person in the middle can go to anyone in the circle and say “Honey I love you, won’t you give me a smile?”
- The person who was asked the question has to answer back “Honey I love you, but I just can’t smile” (without smiling.)
- The person in the middle can do anything to the other person to make them smile except touch them.
- The longest standing person in the middle who resist to smile at the statement wins. It can go on and on and on with strings of laughter!
All tangled up
- Stand in a circle close to each other and have the children place their hands in the center of the group.
- Grab the hand of someone across the circle. Make sure that children are not holding both hands of the same person. It might take some time to do some hand switching to make this work right.
- Without letting go of each other’s hands try to untie the mess they created.
- Be careful not to let children twist someone’s arm too much. Allow children to let go long enough to keep from hurting each other.
- When they are all untied you will end up with one large circle or two smaller circles.
Sock Wrestle
- All the children sit in a circle and have to take off their shoes so they are only wearing socks.
- Every child is given a number.
- Two numbers are then called out.
- The children with those numbers come into the center of the circle, and, remaining on their knees, must, in any way possible, get the other person’s sock before they get theirs.
The Hobo Clown

One of a very famous Hobo clown is Charlie Chaplin. A Hobo, or also known as the Tramp is very much of a “human-like” and “human-feel” type of clown.
Characteristics of a Hobo clown:
Is the lowliest of clowns. Fall guy for the Whiteface and Auguste clowns. Downtrodden in expression and movements. People care about the melancholy Hobo and want to make him happy.
His makeup consist of:
Upper half of face flesh tone, stubby beard, neutral mouth, white eyes and mouth, pink or red nose.
A Hobo’s costume:
Tattered and worn suit, shabby, often patched, usually too big. Wears a hat.

Great Party Games (Part 1)
What’s a party without games?! Children parties are all about fun, laughter and more fun! To be honest, I don’t even think they care much about the food. As long as their tummies are filled, it’s games all the way! A few things to take note while planning party games:
- Always have gifts prepared!
- There’s always a winner but no losers. Reward everyone for their effort and enthusiasm.
- Be sure to play music when playing games. It makes all the difference.
- Explain instructions clearly. Repeat is anyone doesn’t understand.
Here are some examples of great party games:
Hot Potato
- Have all the children sit or stand in a circle.
- One child is chosen to be ‘leader’. The ‘leader’ must have his/her eyes closed at all times.
- The ‘leader’ begins to pass the potato around the circle.
- Everyone must take the potato and must not hold it longer than one second. The potato goes around the circle.
- When the ‘leader’ shouts “HOT POTATO!”, the person holding the potato has to leave the circle.
- The circle gets smaller and smaller until 3 persons are left.
- The winner is the surviving person besides the ‘leader’ in the circle.
Zoom to the Broom!
- You will need a broom.
- The children form a big circle with everyone facing inwards.
- Each player is given a number. One player stands in the center keeping the broom upright by resting the palm of his hands on the top. (The stick should only be balanced upright and not held)
- The player in the center calls out a number and removes his hand.
- The player whose number is called tries to catch the broom before it hits the ground. If the player manages to catch it, he/she takes the place in the center. If the broom falls to the ground, the original person in the center goes back to the center.
Funny Granny Grunt
- You will need a blindfold and a broom.
- The children form a circle.
- Choose one person to be ‘it’ who will be blindfolded. ‘It’ stands in the middle of the circle with a broom in the hand.
- ‘It’ will tell all the players to move to the right. All players will have to continue moving and not stop.
- ‘It’ will then spins the broom and stick the broom handle out.
- The person nearest to the broom grabs it. ‘It’ will then say ‘granny grunt’.
- The person holding the broom will grunt once. Then ‘it’ will try to guess who the granny is.
- If the guess is correct, the person will replace ‘it’ and the game starts over again.
The Auguste Clown

The Auguste clown is my favourite. He tends to create ‘sparks’ during clown acts and the White Face and the Hobo is always at his mercy.
An Auguste has the following characteristics:
Is the opposite of whiteface. He is on the receiving end of whiteface jokes, and because nothing ever goes right for him, people love him and identify with him. He personifies the human condition. Slapstick, prankster, nothing goes right for him, takes the falls but can stand.
His makeup is:
Very exaggerated features, primarily natural flesh tones with white around exaggerated eyes and mouth.
His wardrobe is:
Bizarre, exaggerated, usually two piece suit, colourful (eg big pants, three ties, tiny hat, oversized shoes, colourful wigs). Colour combination is out.
Clowning & Ballooning Seminar
Splattered Paint conducted a clowning and ballooning seminar at Subang Jaya AG church on Saturday. In conjunction with the church’s missions week, they wanted to explore the creative side of ministry through clowning and ballooning.
Before the seminar commenced, Hoopee entertained the crowd with balloon sculpting, silly skits and a whole lot of goofing! The young and old were thrilled to have a clown in their midst. Apparently it’s been a long time since an animated character stepped into their premises.
That’s Hoopee!
Adding colour to the carnival, we set up a face painting and attracted huge crowd. Busying our fingers and imagination, we painted all kinds of icons based on request from butterflies to cars to penguins. It’s exciting to see how a little paint and colour instantly dazzles the children’s eyes (even adults for that matter!)
Happy customer:)
The seminar lasted for 2 hours and by the end of the session, the participants were asking for more. We basically covered basics of clowning (ie. gestures, different clowns and their characters, make up etc).
And for ballooning, we got straight into action pumping up pencil balloons and twisted it to make a dog, a mouse and a flower.
We can see how easily captivating all of these are to the participants. It’s really fun! We’d be back for more in the future… (a longer seminar we hope!) If you are interested to pick up a new cool skills, give us a tinkle, the Splattered Paint team would be happy to share our knowledge, and many clowning hilarious clowning stories!
